Cancelling ReservWise should take 30 seconds. We don't make you talk to a retention rep, fill out a survey, or click through a guilt sequence. If something pushed you to cancel, we'd rather hear about it on the way out than block the door.
How to cancel
- Open Settings → Billing → Subscription.
- Click Cancel subscription.
- Optional: leave a sentence on what didn't work. We read every one.
- Confirm. You'll see "Cancellation scheduled for [date]" — that's the end of your current paid cycle.
You keep full access until that date. No surprise lockout the moment you click cancel.
What happens after the cycle ends
On the cancellation date, your account drops to the free tier. Specifically:
- Your data stays. Reserves, transactions, allocation history, tax records — all of it. Free tier read-only on most of it.
- Bank/Stripe sync stops. Connected sources are paused, not deleted. Income posts manually from that point.
- AI features turn off. Deep Dive, AI chat, and AI Support are paid-tier only.
- You can still log in, view, and export. Anything you could do on free, you can do.
If you want to delete the account entirely, that's a separate action — see below.
Export your data first (recommended)
Before the paid features turn off, run a full export:
- Settings → Data → Export everything gives you a ZIP with transactions CSV, reserves snapshot, allocation rules, tax records, and your monthly reports as PDFs.

You can re-export any time from the free tier too — but we recommend doing it once while everything's still connected and clean.
Deleting the account entirely
Different from cancelling. Cancellation drops you to free; deletion erases everything.
- Cancel your subscription first (above).
- Open Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Type your email to confirm.
- Click Permanently delete.
We hold a 14-day grace window — your data is soft-deleted but recoverable if you email us within those 14 days. After that, hard delete: backups purge on the next 30-day cycle, and there is no recovery path.
Coming back later
If you log in any time after cancelling (and before deleting), you can re-subscribe instantly. Your old data is right where you left it. Reserves resume, sync reconnects, AI features turn back on.
If you deleted the account and want to come back: you'll start fresh. The email address can be reused after the hard-delete period ends.
Refunds
Cancelling does not automatically refund the current cycle — by default you keep access through what you paid for. If you want a refund instead, email support@reservwise.com within 30 days of the most recent charge and we'll work it out. We're not heroic about it; we're also not jerks about it.
